FPL – Gameweek 1

New Premier league season starts from today and as well the Fantasy Premier League. Deadline for the first Gameweek is in 6 hours.

Here are some of the rules, keys and tips to stay ahead of the crowd –

  • Always know when and at what time is the deadline for every gameweek
  • Pick players in the starting 11 which are almost guaranteed to start for their clubs in playing 11 for the match-day.
  • Always use the one free transfer of the gameweek just few hours or a day before the gameweek. (injuries might occur during the week or an already injured player in your team might recover in time)
  • Always check Gameweek fixtures to know easy and difficult fixtures for you to hit and make the mark.
  • Captain Points are doubled. If Captain does not take part in play in the gameweek then Vice-Captain points are Doubled for that week.
  • Choose your trumps/chips very carefully
  • 2 Wildcards are to be used in a season. One should be used in the first half of the campaign and one in the second half of it.
  • Free hit chip allows you to make unlimited changes for the gameweek but team changes back to the way it was before this chip was used.
  • Triple Captain chip is arguably the best and the hardest chip. It triples the points of the Captain in the gameweek it is used.
  • Bench Boost chip is the one when your bench players points are added with the starting 11 players for the given gameweek.
  • Triple Captain is the hardest one but if used carefully you can get ahead of a lot of crowd. Mostly used at the time of Double Gameweeks which occur during the end of the season
  • New FPL users it is advised to use your chips wisely because it can help you farm many points.
  • Sometimes Captain you choose should not be a popular one. Think out of the hat and make someone not so popular.
  • Choosing popular Captains and Players can and will make you slow down in the race.
  • Popular choices = Similar points for everyone.
Popular Captain = Similar points for everyone.
  • Do not always pick a random guy for the Captain. Sometimes choosing random can be very effective.
