FPL GAMEWEEK 6 – Tips

The English Premier League has been 5 gameweeks old now and the table is getting into a more familiar shape. Liverpool, as predicted by many, is at the top of the table. They are the only team to remain unbeaten in the league and are up against young guns of Chelsea this weekend.

Gameweek 6 has two standout fixtures to look out for, one being Chelsea vs Liverpool at the Bridge on Sunday and the other being a battle between Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Second place team, City will be looking to be back on track against bottom side Watford FC, however, Watford came from two goals behind against Arsenal last week and will be looking to get something out of City’s game. Manchester City themselves were beaten by a terrific performance by Norwich City. With midweek UEFA Champions League action, FPL managers were anxiously looking over their players to not to get injured, but there was a piece of bad news for Mason Mount owners. Mount was injured early into his UCL debut by a horrendous tackle by Francis Coquelin. However, it was later stated that it is only a minor injury, but it still looks like Mount will be not be risked from the start as he has been a very crucial player for Chelsea this season. Mount is a player-owned by 23.3% of the FPL managers and some managers have transferred him out of their teams. Injury is not as bad as it looked so, it will be suggested to keep Mount in your FPL teams. FPL managers should be looking to have some type of consistency in their teams.

Here are my suggestions for possible dream team this gameweek 6 –

CAPTAIN Choice – Raheem Sterling

My choice for gameweek 6 captain is Raheem Sterling. Many might argue that he has blanked for 3-4 games in all competitions. This might just be the last chance given by FPL managers before they cash-in someone else. Sterling is priced at £12.2 and for that heavy price tag, he must give performances or else should be replaced by some other candidates.

NamePriceTotal PointsAgainst with Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)
Jordan Pickford£5.6 18Sheffield United, FDR – 2

Jordan Pickford is the suggested keeper for the gameweek. Pickford is selected by 11.5 % FPL managers. Everton are playing at home against Sheffield United this weekend. Everton have a good record at home. They are aiming to win their opening three home league fixtures for the first time since the 1989-90 season. Sheffield United and Southampton are the only sides in the Premier League not to have scored a first-half goal so far this season. Everton are good enough side to beat Sheffield United at Goodison Park. Prediction – Everton 2-0 Sheffield United.

NamePriceTotal PointsAgainst with Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)
Ryan Fredericks £4.517Manchester United, FDR – 4

Fredericks is priced at £4.5 and is selected by only 0.5 % FPL managers. He will be a differential in your FPL teams. Though West ham United have their next fixture against Manchester United but Ryan Fredericks can be a good option for a long run in our FPL teams. West Ham have won two of their last four home league games versus Manchester United. West Ham have lost only one of their past nine Premier League fixtures. The Hammers have kept three successive clean sheets in league and cup. Prediction – West Ham United 2-1 Manchester United.

Jannik Vestergaard£5.2 27AFC Bournemouth, FDR – 2

Jannik Vestergaard is at the top in the defenders list in terms of FPL points. Vestergaard is selected by 6.3 % FPL managers. Southampton has won 7, drawn 1 and lost 2 games from the last 10 games. Southampton are unbeaten in all four meetings with Bournemouth at St. Mary’s. Southampton look to have an upper hand on this weeks opponents and can clinch a clean sheet as well. Prediction – Southampton 1-0 AFC Bournemouth.

Lucas Digne£6.223Sheffield United, FDR – 2

Lucas started the season quite nicely. Priced at £6.2 and selected by 29.9 % FPL is the second most selected player in defenders list. Everton have a good record at home. Emiliano Buendia£6.024Burnley, FDR – 2
Emiliano Buendia (no.17)

Emiliano Buendia could be a good differential to pick with only 1.9 % FPL managers have his services. Norwich have a FDR of 2 and can beat Burnley who are not as good in defence as they used to be. Emiliano can grab an assist in this type of game. This is first ever Premier League meeting between these two teams. Emiliano Buendia is the first midfielder to assist four goals in his first five Premier League appearances since Eden Hazard in 2012. A start worth keeping in mind. Prediction – Burnley 1-3 Norwich City.

NamePriceTotal PointsAgainst with Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)
James Maddison£7.1 17Tottenham Hotspur, FDR – 4

James Maddison is priced at £7.1 and is selected by 11.2 % FPL managers. James Maddison has attempted the most shots without scoring in the Premier League this season, and only one of his 16 efforts has been on target. Worrying Stat, right? But with Vardy in hot form Maddison is always hopeful of getting assists against his name. Prediction – Leicester City 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur.

They are on a club Premier League record run of scoring in 27 consecutive fixtures. This does means assist coming in for KDB. Easy fixture for City on paper but it was an easy on paper last week as well. Prediction – Manchester City 3-0 Watford.

Mohamed Salah£12.5 45Chelsea, FDR – 4

Salah is again in his routine of scoring goals and is giving a good return to FPL managers for his hefty price tag. He is selected by 41.7 % FPL managers. Liverpool could become the first club to win their opening six games in consecutive top-flight seasons. They are coming at the back of their 0-2 defeat to Napoli. Although Chelsea also lost their respective UCL game but they were at home. Prediction – Chelsea 3-2 Liverpool.

Raheem Sterling£12.2 39Watford, FDR – 2
Raheem Sterling (no.7)

Raheem Sterling is selected by 44.4 % FPL managers, second on the list after Van Dijk. Although he has blanked and fear of rotation, FPL managers are going to give one last shot for Sterling before they cash-in someone else. They are on a club Premier League record run of scoring in 27 consecutive fixtures. With Aguero still in form can be a good news for sterling popping up with assists. Prediction – Manchester City 3-0 Watford.

NamePriceTotal PointsAgainst with Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang£11.0 39Aston Villa, FDR – 2

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is priced at £11.0 with a place in 23.7 % FPL managers teams. Aubameyang has delivered each week up till now.
