FPL – GAMEWEEK 10

Gameweek 8 and Gameweek 9 have been horrendous. averaging only 36 and 37 respectively. Players like Pukki, Mane, Sterling, Aubameyang and many others on whom FPL managers have relied on, delievered blanks in the past two gameweeks.

After such back to back disastorous Gameweeks, this has created a greater cause of panic in FPL community. I will give you all a guide for the upcoming week, and how to overcome the fiasco of the previous two weeks.

By now most the FPL managers are done with Pukki, with his form detoriating drastically. Pukki have now blanked in FOUR games in a row, so it can be said that Pukki party is over and it doesn’t look like it will gain momentum anytime soon. And one of the most discussed topic after an UEFA Champions League week is Pep’s rotation policy. But this time out it looks clear than ever before. We will discuss further below, about the City players to get in your teams for the upcoming gameweek.

Captain choice – Mohamed Salah
  • Mohamed Salah is back after an ankle injury and appeared good in the mid week Champions League game.
  • He managed to hang on to the ball under pressure and dribbled his way past two defenders to the score Liverpool’s fourth and final goal of the night.
  • Liverpool are at home this weekend and they welcome a little rejuvenated Spurs side. This could be a very excited game, full of goals.
  • Last week Liverpool looked out of sorts with an absence of Mohamed Salah and having him back into the side will surely help them this week.
  • He is priced at £12.4 and owned by 30.7% FPL managers. He is third on the list of player transfered out this gameweek. Though we still believe in him and he can play out of the skin on any given day.
  • Prediction – Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham Hotspur.

NamePricePointsAgainst with Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)
Rui Patricio£5.241Newcastle United, FDR – 2
  • Rui Patrico has the most FPL points in the league in terms of Goalkeeper. Wolves look to be back in form now and their fixtures as well look good enough for them to accumulate few clean sheets.
  • Patricio is priced at £5.2 and is selected by 12.4% FPL teams, which is sixth in goalkeeping department.
  • He has most points and sixth in terms of ownership, which kind of makes him differential. Wolves are away this week in the league, up against Newcastle United.
  • Prediction – Newcastle United 0-1 Wolves.

NamePricePointsAgainst with Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)
Joao Cancelo£5.311Aston Villa, FDR – 2
  • Joao Cancelo was one of the best player on the pitch last week, grabbing 9 points and 3 bonus points as well against Crystal Palace.
  • He is only owned by 1.0% of the FPL managers and is priced at £5.3. Cancelo playing only 19 minutes mid week and also at the back of that performance of last week he should be in the Pep’s starting 11 against Aston Villa this weekend.
  • Manchester City welcome Villa at Etihad on Saturday. With City 6 points behind Liverpool, they will be looking to put more pressure on Liverpool by playing before them and reducing the gap to 3 points.
  • Prediction – Manchester City 3-0 Aston Villa.
NamePricePointsAgainst with Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)
Ricardo Pereira£6.242Southampton, FDR – 2

John Lundstram (number 7)
  • John Lundstram is now at the top with most points (45) in the list of defenders.
  • Lundstram is priced at £4.6 and is owned by 33.1% FPL managers. He is now the second most owned defender in the league.
  • Sheffield are very strong in defence and they showed that in the game against Arsenal last week.
  • Lundstram plays as a midfielder for Sheffield but he is taken as a defender in the FPL. Playing in midfield gives him more oppurtunity to create and grab few goals, which means more points for a defender in the FPL game.
  • Sheffield united now have 4 clean sheets in the League which is most and shared with only Manchester City.
  • John Lundstram has created 4 big chances, which is most by any Sheffield player and fourth joint best in the League.

Willy Boly£5.034Newcastle United, FDR – 2
  • Willy Boly is owned by 6.4% FPL managers and his ownership has vastly increased this week. I do also consider him bringing this gameweek because of Wolves good run of fixtures.
  • Willy Boly is yet to receive a yellow card and has grabbed 7 bonus points which is third on the list of defenders.
  • Boly has made 24 tackles this season which is second most by any Wolves player.
  • Prediction – Newcastle United 0-1 Wolves.

  • He has attempted 67 crosses this season which is third most by any player in the League.
  • Kevin is the most transfered-in player this round.
  • Although he blanked for the first time last week but FPL managers still have faith in him to continue his remarkable form of this season.
  • He is owned by 36.1% FPL managers.
  • Prediction – Manchester City 3-0 Aston Villa.
NamePricePointsAgainst with Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)
David Silva£7.651Aston Villa, FDR – 2
David Silva (number 21)
  • David Silva is priced at £7.6 with selected by 11.1% FPL managers.
  • Silva is the only player to have four double digit round scores.
  • He was not part of the mid week Champions League game so he looks a guaranteed start for the League game against Aston Villa.
  • Silva has created 4 Big chance this season.
  • He is the fourth most transfered-in player this round.
  • Prediction – Manchester City 3-0 Aston Villa.

  • He has 36 FPL points which is second most by any Spurs player. He has 3 goals and 1 assist this season in the league.
  • Son had a very good mid-week Champions League game by scoring 2 goals. Spurs won 5-0 mid-week and surely have gained some confidence from that.
  • Prediction – Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham Hotspur.

NamePricePointsAgainst with Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)
Jamie Vardy£9.154Southampton, FDR – 2
  • Jamie Vardy has scored most goals in the League since the Brendan Rodgers became the manager of Leicester City.
  • He has scored 6 goals and one assist this season.
  • Vardy is owned by 13.7% FPL managers and is now the second most transfered-in player this gameweek.
  • He is priced at £9.1 and has 54 points in the league which is most by any Leicester player.
  • Leicester City have FDR of 2 in next seven out of 8 games.
  • Prediction – Southampton 0-2 Leicester City.

We will now look at some of the alternatives to the players we have already selected –

  • Cesar Azpilicueta is one of the alternative to have in the defence. He is priced £5.9 with 6.2% FPL ownership.
  • He has 27 FPL points and Chelsea have few good fixtures and they have started to look strong in defence with back to back 1-0 win.
  • Mid-week win against Ajax has given out a statement that Chelsea youngters are here to stay and fight for their places among big teams.
  • Azpilicueta is often proved dangerous from crosses out from the right wing.
  • Prediction – Burnley 0-2 Chelsea.
  • Raheem Sterling was on fire in the mid week Champions League game.
  • He grabbed himself a Hat-trick and Two assists in the 5-1 win against Atalanta.
  • He played a full 90 minutes in that game so this makes him vulnerable to Pep’s rotation.
  • Sterling is priced at £12.1 and is owned by 38.0% FPL managers.
  • He has created 5 Big chance this season.
  • Prediction – Manchester City 3-0 Aston Villa.
  • Raul Jimenez has 3 goalss and 2 assists to his name. He is priced only at £7.1 with ownership of 10.0%.
  • Jimenez has 41 points, joint most for any Wolves player.
  • He has created 4 Big Chances, most by any Wolves player.
  • He is also the most transfered-in Wolves player this gameweek.
  • Prediction – Newcastle United 0-1 Wolves.
Raul Jimenez (number 9)

Hopefully this week gets better than previous two weeks. And we hope Liverpool vs Spurs don’t disappoint us. All the best everyone for the FPL gameweek 10!!
